Elastin

Elastin is a connective tissue protein with structural functions that gives elasticity to tissues. It is a polymer with a high expansion capacity that resembles a rubber band. Itis present in all vertebrates. It is also important in the ability of vertebrate bodies to withstand stress. Also helps keep skin healthy, smooth, firm and supple.

That is, elastin is an element that keeps our skin young. It also provides elasticity and flexibility. When a person age, wrinkles appear in the cheeks and in the peripheral zone of the eyes, this means that the production of elastin has begun to decrease.  It is a protein fiber that is present in the skin, but also in the ligaments and arteries, and its function is to keep them rigid and stable, that means to keep them in position and in proper functioning
